Me Likey!!!

OK, sorry everyone but I have been very busy lately with my family and haven't had time to post, so to take up space, and give you something besides food recipes to enjoy, I'm going to share some of my favorite drink recipes...from alcoholic to virgin to the holiday jewels.  I have tried LOTS of drinks in the 33 years I have been living, so I can only show you the ones we adore the most, if I were to put down EVERYTHING, this sucker would be the biggest post ever!  hahaha
Remember:  there are all kinds of beers and wines out there to try, but in case you aren't in the mood for the same old thing, below is a list of drink ideas you can try!  Hope you find something you like!  Enjoy!

I will begin with my all time favorite drink...my take on the classic Sangria:
1 bottle Bella Sera Pinot Grigio
cherries
grapes
bag of frozen mixed fruits, whatever your fave is
1 bottle sparkling water, any flavor
Mix the liquids together in a punch bowl or large pitcher, then add your fruits, refrigerate for at least 2 hours.  Pour into a wine glass and enjoy!  Make sure you get some of the fruit, it seems to suck up the alcohol and tastes oh so yummy!

My Mojito!
2 shots Spiced Rum
12 mint leaves
1 tsp sugar
splash of lime juice
ginger ale
crushed ice
Take a couple of mint leaves and press them in your hand, kinda crush them between your thumb and first two fingers.  Now place the mint leaves in the bottom of glass, pour the ice, rum, sugar, and lime in and gibe it a stir.  Add ginger ale til glass is full, garnish with mint leaves if desired.

Let's get fruity with a Passion Fruit Mai Tai :
2 shots Passion Fruit Flavored Vodka
1 shot lime juice
1 shot grenadine
 ice cube
1 slice orange
1 cherry
Mix all ingredients, except the orange and cherry, together in a shaker then give it a couple of little shakes.  Pour into a glass garnished with an orange slice and a cherry.

The Red Snapper...brought to you by David and Sandy Smith:
  • 2 shots Crown Royal

  • 2 splashes amaretto

  • cranberry juice

  • Add Crown Royal, amaretto, and cranberry juice in ice-filled highball glass and stir.

Oh how I love my brother...this is especially for him, it's called a Irish Black and Tan:
    Smithwick's Ale in can
    Guinness Draught in can
Fill pint glass with Smithwick's just over half way, now pour Guinness Draught beer over the back of a spoon. Stop pouring just short of the rim.  Enjoy a drink like a true Irishman!

This is what I like to drink on Christmas Eve night, it just puts me in the mood for staying up all night while watching A Christmas Story and wrapping presents.  All the Mama's know what I'm talking about!  I call this the ultimate Mocha Latte:
    2 shots Godiva Mocha Liqueur
    coffee
    1 dollop whipped cream
Add Liqueur to coffee and top with whipped cream in a coffee mug.   YUM!

Who can live without Christmas Eggnog??
    2 shots Spiced Rum
    store bought eggnog
    1 pinch nutmeg
Pour rum into a small highball glass and add eggnog.  Stir together, top with nutmeg and serve.

GA Bulldog Punch, perfect for game day:
    1 shot Peach Liqueur
    1 shot Rum
    splash fresh lemon juice
    splash simple syrup
    club soda
    red food coloring
Fill a shaker full with ice, add first 4 ingredients, shake well.  Strain into an ice filled glass and top with the club soda, drip in 3 drops food coloring to get the drink a GA Red.  Garnish with a lemon slice.

Now time for the kiddos to have a drink...this Shirley Temple is courtesy of Avery:
2 shots Grenadine (12 oz. per bottle)
    1 shot cherry juice
    Ginger Ale
    cherries
Pour all ingredients into a glass filled with crushed ice, stir, and garnish with a cherry.

This scrumptious Green Tea and Mango Splash will knock your socks off!
1 cup strongly brewed green tea (2 tea bags to 1 cup water)
    2 cups mango nectar
    Ice cubes
    Mango slivers
Combine tea and mango nectar in a pitcher. Serve over ice, garnished with mango slivers.

Well, that's all the drinks I can come up with for now, I might just start adding a drink to the recipes from now on...it's fun to introduce new things to your friends when you have a get together.  Just remember, don't over due it!  Handle with care and NEVER drink and drive.  You can have lots of fun without getting crazy.  Enjoy and Happy Shopping!
