The Buck Stops Here! hehehe....

No really, I mean it; we had deer, or venison, or maybe you say "Bambie's Dad"...whatever you may call it, we ate it tonight; and it was G-R-E-A-T,great!  I made a Venison Tenderloin, sliced it up, and placed it on a bed of long grain rice, on the side we had buttery English peas and yeast rolls, to sop up all that yummy gravy from the venison tenderloin.
Vension Tenderloin:
2 lb vension tenderloin, sliced
1 medium onion, sliced
2 cups water
1/4 cup vinegar
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 packet meat marinade
Place all ingredients into a crockpot on high heat for 5 hours, then switch to low heat for an additional 3 hours, stirring a few times during slow-cooking.  During the last hour place your rice into a steamer and cook for 60 minutes, (add some beef stock to the rice before hand for added flavor).  Place the English peas in a microwave safe bowl with 2 Tbsp butter and salt to taste.  Cook for about 5 min or until heated thru and butter is melted, stirring occasionally.  Brown yeast rolls, and now you're ready to chow down!

Total Cost:  $3.00*.....WHOO HOO!  Not even Jeremy could find any fault with that price!

**Today's Tip-Go out to all the butchers/processors in your neighborhood and get on their list.  Alot of times you can sign up and if one of their customers doesn't showup or decides they don't want something, you could get a call to pick up the meat at a discounted, (or sometimes even FREE), rate!  Happy shopping!!**

*If you prefer to not have that "gamey" taste which comes along with wild deer, just soak your meat in salt water over night, this will pull that taste out of your meat; (this seems to work better than anything else I have tried).

*venison tenderloin was free tonight, I got it from my butcher.
