A tavola non si invecchia!! ~"You Don't Age While Seated for a Meal!

You don't age while seated for a meal...don't we wish!!!  I have been at restaurants before that felt like I aged 10 years before getting my meal!  It just happened to be at an Italian restaurant and I was 8 months pregnant.  I REALLY NEEDED LASAGNA!!!!  So I decided I would never go through that again and I would figure out a recipe that was quick and tasted like I had been slaving for hours, but in reality I hardly lifted a finger.  Well, that day never came; to make good lasagna takes a while, well, I ain't pregers anymore and I can take my time and make it right!  This is my recipe for Crockpot Lasagna!  Hope everyone likes it as much as my family!
1 box lasagna, no need to boil!!!!  YAY!!!  :)
3 jars of your fave spaghetti sauce, (I use Bertolli or Ragu)
1 package fat free cottage cheese
1 pack Italian cheese blend, shredded
1 pack Mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/2 lb hamburger meat, browned and drained
1/2 lb sweet Italian sausage, browned and drained

Start with a layer of sauce on the bottom of your crockpot, (to keep the noodles from sticking), then a layer of noodles, now another layer of sauce, then cottage cheese, a mixture of the shredded cheeses, now back to the noodles.  Do this 2x, now add both meats in one single layer and then start back layering as before till you get to the top of the crockpot. Make sure to end with the shredded cheese.  You can cook this 2 ways, either on high for 5 hours or on low for 7 hours.  Serve with garlic bread or cheese rolls.  Enjoy!!
Total Cost~$12.00

**Hint of the Day~Buy bulk or store-brand cheese instead of the pre-sliced, individually wrapped cheese. Individually wrapped cheese slices are more expensive than cutting your own slices. Often the bulk cheese is better for you because it has more calcium in it than the pre-sliced, individually wrapped cheese.  Happy Shopping!  :)**

This post is dedicated to Rebecca, Danielle, and Renee...thanks for such a wonderful book club meeting today!!
